As an example, the Quad Unit design uses four housings for maximum filtration. Each housing is capable of handling high-flow rates and can be configured to deliver specific absolute-rated results. A variety of media is available, and proper selection is based upon the job specifics and the desired results. The Quad design utilizes water and air to backwash the media in the vessels. This improves the efficiency and minimizes downtime. Since the Quad Unit is simple to operate and maintain, personnel costs are reduced. Various configurations are available, and each self-contained unit occupies only a fraction of the footprint required by bulky DE presses. Trucking and disposal costs related to the use of DE are reduced or eliminated.
