The following demonstrates one of the methodologies in which Total Separation Solutions utilizes their technology to safely and effectively treat and reclaim produced water.

Net water usage is decreased, the environment is protected, and waste impact is minimized as a result of the TSS process.

Treating the large volume of water involved in oil well production is difficult, and its ever-changing composition can make treatment a very complex process. Challenges faced include:

- Volume increases
- Chemical reactions due to atmosphere
- High concentrations of salt impact the environment upon disposal
- Oxygen demand and other toxic effects on the environment
- Hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, and low molecular weight hydrocarbons
   pose potential health and environmental hazards

The large volumes of water being produced combined with the need to find large volumes of water for use in production operations encourages the treatment of produced water for reuse. Successful treatment and disposal will have a major impact on the profitability of production operations.
